O so chic

I love absolutely everything about this photograph!  The stunning Miranda Kerr (quickly becoming one of my favourite models) posing as a sexy Jackie O-esq figure as part of an editorial entitled 'Flirty Fifties', shot by Terry Richardson for Harpers Bazaar.

Jeans

This week I treated myself to a pair of jeans from Zara.
They are the softest jeans I've ever worn, look just aged enough, am in love with the colour and will take me perfectly from winter into spring.

Marni for H&M

Thursday saw the much anticipated release of the Marni for H&M collection.
It turned out that it wasn't stocked in Lille (thanks H&M!), but I managed to nab a t-shirt on hm.com after being placed in an online queue for what seemed like an age.
The collection sold out in New York in a mere 30 minutes and London wasn't too far behind with queues snaking around the block, the usual wristband distribution and frenzied "you have 30 minutes to shop" drama (I did it for Kate Moss' first collection for Topshop back in May 2007 and it was insane)   The Marni collection is one of my preferred of late; Versace really didn't do it for me-too loud, too colourful and a bit too much.

Marni's promo film having being shot by Sofia Coppola in Marrakesh didn't hurt the cool factor surrounding the collection either.

What's not to love?

The dress by Carven, the Burberry trench and the brogues, oh I love the brogues!

Isabel Marant

isabel

I am totally in love with Isabel Marant, especially after watching last night’s ‘Le Jour D’Avant’ on Arte . The show documents the 48 hours that precede a major fashion show. The nerves, the worries, the casting, the fittings,  the last minute adjustments etc.  You feel the designers' stress and are relieved that they manage to pull it off in the end and deliver a fabulous runway show. I’ve watched the previous documentaries (DVF, Fendi, Rykiel etc) but loved none so much as last night’s.

What struck me was how down to earth Isabel Marant seemed; she actually looked like she was having fun- a world away from many designers who appear serious and austere.
Marant's bohemian vibe translates clearly into her designs which radiate a very laid back chic, slight tomboyish flair and Parisienne insouciance.
