Isabel Marant

isabel

I am totally in love with Isabel Marant, especially after watching last night’s ‘Le Jour D’Avant’ on Arte . The show documents the 48 hours that precede a major fashion show. The nerves, the worries, the casting, the fittings,  the last minute adjustments etc.  You feel the designers' stress and are relieved that they manage to pull it off in the end and deliver a fabulous runway show. I’ve watched the previous documentaries (DVF, Fendi, Rykiel etc) but loved none so much as last night’s.

What struck me was how down to earth Isabel Marant seemed; she actually looked like she was having fun- a world away from many designers who appear serious and austere.
Marant's bohemian vibe translates clearly into her designs which radiate a very laid back chic, slight tomboyish flair and Parisienne insouciance.
